Hi all,

Could you Accuton owners give few details from your drivers?

Here is a picture of C2-12:

Looks like there is a pretty flat surface below the grill around the surround and inverted dome. But is it really flat? I know those grills are removable and I thought to use them with waveguide but I'd need to know can I install them nicely into one. How much is that dome + surround diameter? (considering waveguide throat diameter).

Have you liked your tweeters? Any discription of their sound? What kind of applications you have used them? Crossover loops, frequences...

Thanks !

Hi Jussie,

For more details on the accuton C^2 12, you can have a look here:

and
http://www.hifivoice.com/audio/milestones/acoustical/diffraction/diffraction.html

I've also a picture of a broken C^2 12 (luckily not mine) with its grill removed.

The sound is crispy, direct and transparant. But it requires steep filtering to stay away from breakup, needs some felt dampening, and it is difficult to get "airy" sound out of it.

Ok. Good information. Looks like the faceplace could be compatible to a waveguide. Could you measure how large that suspension plus cone area is? Rough diameter is fine if you have your grilles on.

Stay away from the breakup? You mean that ultrasonic breakup or does it have other problems as well?

Have you tried Seas standard line aluminiums, how do they perform compared to Accuton?

Thanks.

I have no clue what exactly you want to measure. Can you give me a graphical clue?

This has more to do with the woofer.

No, I haven't. I took a "full-ceramic design" as a starting point. No special reason, besides that you have to start somewhere.

Ok. Look at the broken C2-12 picture. There is a flat surface under the grill. At the center is the inverted dome (or what's left of it) and its surround. Could you measure the diameter of the dome and surround together? So if I consider investing a pair I'd know how much waveguides throat can be that the dome and its surround still fit in there.

Thanks.
