Speakers to replace Klipsch Forte II's

Now that the rest of my setup has improved over the past year, I'm starting to take a closer look at my Klipsch Forte II's, and wondering if I can do better. I love their low bass extension, but the HF horn really brings out the SET hum on quiet passages, and they seem to be too in-my-face sometimes. I'd prefer something a little more laid-back.

I still have low-power amplification (~8W/ch), so I'd need something 90dB/W or above. What can I build for $700 or so that would be an upgrade?

How you doin Jim? Haven't seen ya around CA for some time. Don't blame ya.

Anyway, you looking to go full range again, or just something overall efficient?

Try the crossover upgrade for the forte. Very impressive.
You can DIY or order the assemble unit from the guy on ebay. For inexpensive test you can just replace the caps.
