Who here uses Focal drivers?

If so, what drivers?

Im thinking of using the Audiom TD5/6w4411/13wx (3way)

Just wondering if its worth the extra money compared to a Scan-Speak design?

I haven't used any focal drivers myself, but they have a good reputation. For the smaller drivers, Focal drivers are actually cheaper than Scan Speak here in the US, though I don't know how things are in Australia.

Also, it's really only the large 13wx speaker that is very expensive. I put that down to the fact that there is relatively little competition in large, non-subwoofer type drivers. I would never buy the 13wx for $650 USD when I can buy an Aurasound NS12-513A for something like $180 USD.

And then is was subsequently chosen by JonMarsh to be part of a high end 3-way design using an Accuton mid:

He has described this driver as the best 12 inch woofer on the market, and I personally trust his opinion. I'm trying to put you off of the focal driver, but there are other good options out there that may could save you some money without sacrificing performance.

In building my speakers it prices come out about the same, but when you add 2x13wx and then a 1x15wx it blows it out. As the 13wx are $1100 and 15wx are $1500

The smaller drivers seem pretty nice too. And they are not that expensive, compared to SS and Accuton. But no one seems to use them and I've never seen measurements. Which is strange because they're retail line is pretty highly regarded.
