Well my JVC HT receiver looks to be expiring on me so I thought Id try the Hafler surround sound matrix setup with an old Pioneer SX. The diagram below shows a pot with 25-200 at 3watt spec used for attenuation of the rears. Isnt that actually considered a rheostat? Whats the best device to use for this?
http://kantack.com/surround/images/surgif1.gif And Im guessing that this is what the old Dynaco Quad Adapter was. Its also shown on ESP but w/o a control for the rears. http://sound.westhost.com/project18.htm amt |

Hi AMT. Yes, rheostat, wire wound pot. I used to use a 50 ohm 20w unit. Bit of over kill, it's what I had.

Thanks for the confirmation Geoff. I will pick up a rheostat and see how it sounds.
