Anyone aware of a DIY design similar to the PSB Platinum C4 that's designed for high output with 2 woofers, 2 midranges and a tweeter and decent off-axis response (35 degrees horizontal, 15 degrees vertical)? Looking for large stand-mounted high-output LCRs to go behind an acoustic screen. A small LCR line array similar to, or slightly larger than the RBH T1, MK S150, or Klipsch THX Ultra2s would be great, too.
Thanks! |

Oops, I realized I said 6 speaker, I meant 5
. I should have gotten more sleep last night. A few more things...I should probably mention that my budget is about $800 each, preferrably ~$600. Sealed with a target crossover to seperate subwoofers at 60hz or 80hz is ideal - I'm looking at IB right now. I'm not looking to go low, so the Ws of the WMTMW design would be maybe 6.5" or 7" and the Ms would be around 3" or 4", I'm guessing. Not really interested in a ribbon T since their vertical off-axis response falls off very sharply, from what I've seen (5 degrees or so). I suppose the crossover between the M and T is key, but I'm looking to be on the warm side of neutral. I have pretty good extended hearing (at least 18khz) and I can't stand speakers that become harsh when they're pushing reference levels. Thanks! |
