Default Focal Driver recommendations

Hi,

Who here has had experience with the focal drivers? Ive been looking into purchasing some to make a high end 2 way bookshelf and later a floorstanding 3 way.

Ive picked out these drivers to use:

Audiom TD5 Tweeter
6 W 4311 or Audiom 6 WM

and then for the 3 way using a

Audiom 11 WX

For a 3-way, I recommend Audiom7k for midrange. I've been using it for more than 10years. Superb performance!

But it's also out of production for many years

The successor seems not as good on paper...

Hi Nick,

not the same as Utopia range, but quite similar, at least to the older Utopia. The latest range uses beryllium tweeters ( a big step up) and multiferrite mids.

Bear in mind the audiom 6wx is a mid only, and no use in a 2-way.
Use this in a 3-way with your other drivers and you have the potential for an incredibly dynamic and transparent system from top to bottom.

Make one panel in acrylic so you can gaze upon the beauty of the 11wx
