Default Has anyone modified Onkyo HTiB speakers?

Hey guys I'm looking for a budget system and was wondering if it was possible to modify the speakers that come with the HT-S790. I have done a lot of searching and found one post at AVSFORUM.COM where ONE guy said he was successful at modifying them. But he never posted again, never posted pics and never even said what he did besides test the drivers and redesign the crossover. Has anyone done this or know where I can find some info to get started? Thanks in advance.
Mike

Not tremendously likely, if you were to open them up, take a few pics, no doubt there'd be many suggestions. First, and most obvious- a better enclosure, they're probably molded plastic or thin wood.

Crossover revision is somewhat harder, but it's likely that a damping on the cone and a better inductor on the (presumed) midrange would be a good choice, search 'dammar' or 'puzzlecoat' for a couple viable coatings. Butylene formulations are also a choice, but less viable for a small quantity diy.
