Default How To: Clean metal cone drivers

I received some Dayton RS225S in perfect mechanical shape but it looks like the drivers spent some time in a wood shop uncovered. What is the proper way to clean the metal cone without scratching/denting them? It also looks like there are some water? marks. Any suggestions?

Thanks
