Default Woofers replacement.

Hi all,

I own a set of sound monitors, "klein and hummel O98", for about 15 years. The problem is that the woofers appeared with the foam surround rotten. I have to replace them, but the manufacturer informed me that they do not support these monitors any more due to the lack of spare parts. They have attempted to refoam some woofers with no success.
I asked them to inform me for the type and make of the woofers in order to find compatible ones but they didn't give me that information, instead they offered me a replacement method for some $$$$ that I cannot afford.
Does anybody of you know what type and make are these woofers or suggest any new type for the replacement?
Your help would be very appreciated.

Have you pulled the drivers out? Any markings or pics you can provide?

Do a Google search for "speakerbits.au. com"they should be able to help you with suitable foam surround replacements inc. suitable adhesive at a fraction of the price of replacement drivers doing it is not difficult, only challenges your diy ability; just a little care is needed and a little thought, also do a search on the net for a diy surround replacement primer, there is one as l have seen it, tho unfortunately l cant give you a link, good luck cheers TC

Hi,
The label appears to be in the same format as those made by Peerless. Only the top OEM marking is changed

I wonder if peerless can suggest a replacement?

Cheers,
Martin.

That woofer looks like an easy candidate for a refoam, which gives you a much better chance of restoring the sound than if you try different woofers.

I sent an e-mail to them and they replied: Unfornutaly, we have not produced the speaker, so we are not able to help you.

Before I will go for the surround replacement I would like to try another company may be SEAS.... what's your suggestions

That is a genuine Peerless Woofer. possibly an OEM 10" 4 ohm paper cone foam surround version (part no. 930426 from your image)

Sealed enclosure/ or passive drone alignment right.

If you can find a Peerless distributor they can get something to work for this from his old Peerless stock. Unfortunatly they have discontined most of those woofer types about 1 yr ago.
