Gentlemen,

I am planning to build a set of Proac 2.5's as my first DIY project and
have some questions about the damping materials :

1. Is the Bituminous felt necessary to add for damping if the
18mm and 25mm MDF are used as prescibed?
( do you have experience building without?)

2. What is this material called in the US and where can it be purchased?

3. Is the Polystuff material availalble at Partsexpress equivelent to
dacron 200g/m2 ?
Thanks

The 30lb felt is far too light. 90lb weight is something like 2.2mm, and I believe 5mm thickness is specified.

You should not skip the bitumen. I am experimenting with something called selvage, which has a rocky side that I coated with a thick layer of rubberized auto undercoat. Initial tests are promising.
