Hi,
If a horn turns phase 180 degree it should be possible to mount driver in horn mouth like this ? |

Clever idea. Seems like if the mouth of the horn let the sound from the back of the driver radiate directly into the room then this design would act pretty much like an expanding transmission line. One side direct radiating, the other with a 180 degree delay line.

one slight problem, the sound from the front is close to that from the rear that there will be alot of cancellation.

What you have there isn't too far from a topology close to the Jensen Transflex

Thanks,
I was in doubt if it was just a variation of a "rearloaded" horn But as both sides of driver are active, something different ought to happen, and Danleys white paper seems to exsplain some of it Could be worth something, so here are my plans with drawings of my 1. floor, intended to be used as "listening room" |

Hey, cool idea! I like it. I think you would have a couple of periodic things happening. Resonances due to the length of the throat of the horn and interference due to phase differences of back wave and front wave. The resonances of course will give you an increase in dB and lengthen the original impulse. The intereference bounce between somewhere around +6 to -12 db perhaps? hm anyways, i could figure out the actual formula if you are interested. i would try it out anyways!
