I have seen an Italian loudspeaker project that seems quite interesting :

Hi Freccia,
Struggled with the text a little, but it looks like a tried & tested recipe brought up to date with contemporary drivers. OB FR augmented with enclosed sub (not sure if it said it was reflex). I'd have thought for the sake of simplicity, you might want to substitute the full range driver/super tweeter arrangement for a FR that'll do the job without the need for HF support - albeit at the possible expense of HF dispersion. That will give you a possible bi-amp configuration (with the right FR driver) where the full range open baffle unit can be wired directly to it's dedicated amp without any crossover components in the signal path. I think it's a neat design with (IMHO) real possibilities. Go for it!
