Wink Yikes! DIY could be so much better (and cheaper)

Another example of how one could DIY something for a lot cheaper than sales price - I give you the Aux Out 400, for only $949 ($999 euro):

Yikes! Gotta be a 6" SUB (OK, maybe 5")! 3" FR speakers!

Maybe I'm wrong and they're using really top-notch drivers... and then maybe Hoffmann's Iron Law has been repealed And of course I'd take a really long time to get those angles and that finish.

And don't forget the HOLOGRAPHIC STEREO EFFECT! (Doesn't Bo$E have a patent on that?)

Well....
I do like the looks of it. Looks very "Pro". But those drivers are tiny. And when you consider the price you can get powered speakers for these days - JBL, Mackie, Behringer, Fostex, etc - the price of the thing seems high.

I like the face on photo. Is it sitting on the toilette? Lid down?

Still, looks like a rugged unit. Nice idea. You could do it yourself, easy.

No, far from it. I was mostly astounded at the price.

'suppose I shouldn't be critical of something I haven't heard. I have no real reason to want to build it. I heard it advertised on a radio station & checked it out, and got a really good laugh.
