Drivers with Impedance around 750 Ohm were even more common than dynamic drivers in Germany in the 1920ies and 1930ies. The coil was fixed and the moving part was an induction loop or just the core of the coil. The sound quality was below that of dynamic drivers. The second disadvantage was poor cooling of the compact wound coil.
