I'm in the process of rebuilding a pair of HF-275 Helios speaker cabinets from a 2 1/2 system to something completely different ;-) The lower section of the cabinets will be extended to fit a Peerless XXLS 12" in a closed 50 liter box.

I prefer to mount them in the front baffle as I want to play with higher cross over frequencies than normal sub. But the data sheet show a very high peek 'On axis' at 1500Hz and I'm wondering if I would be better of by facing them down, side or in the back of the cabinet as the '60 degrees' plot show a flat line? Or will this peak at 1500 play the room so much that I need to fix it electronic anyway?
