Default Panasonic SA-XR55 bi-amp question

Perhaps someone knows the answer to my question. I have searched long and hard to no avail.

I currently have a pair of Magnepan MMGs, and a pair of Dayton RS315HF woofers. I would like to put the woofers in sealed boxes, which would serve as stands for the Maggies.

The Panasonic SA-XR55 receiver has bi-amp capability, so I thought this would work well with the setup. I would use a passive crossover at about 150-200Hz, and I do not have a problem with the large crossover components that would be required.

However, I do have a different problem which is that the woofer has considerably higher sensitivity than the Maggies. However, looking at the manual for the Panasonic SA-XR55 receiver (page 21), I see what looks like a HF/LF balance setting, which I think would allow me to see the relative output of the HF and LF channels.

Can anyone confirm that this is how it works, and does anyone have an idea of the adjustment range?

As an aside, the manual also shows that you can adjust the HF/LF relative delay.

I've an XR55 and played with it quite a bit in bi-amp mode with my M3si's. The HF/LF output settings are not a large range, in my seat-of-the-pants estimation the boost at the extreme is about +5dB, maybe less, I'm pretty sure not more. I have no way to measure this and could not, like youself, find any specification for this anywhere. So this advise is worth what you're paying for it.

Cheers,

Kevin

Thanks for the info. At least the functionality is confirmed.
