I am planning to upgrade the HF Xover cap of my speaker to Mundorf Supreme or Silver in Oil. I really like this speaker and i think upgrading the Xover cap would really bring the musically of this spkr to a higher level . Age is close to 10 years .
I did it to the SF concertino previously. I changed the HF cap to Mundorf Supreme cap and really gave big improvement. The highs are more extended and gave better detail. Over all musicality has improved. IMHO, it is better than playing on cables ( I/C , spkr cable or power cords ). My problem is, the Signum Xover is covered with black resin as damping material. Has anybody upgraded the caps of this speaker before.? What is the value of the HF cap ? .. How did you remove/peel the resin without damaging the component ? Appreciate your help/suggestions .
