Default TL design

hi, back here again!

although the Omnes Audio L8 in OB are ok, good at acoustic stuff, i would like to go back to a conventional 2 way design, that can handle rock and higher volumes.

the reasoning for this is that i would like to have a speaker that doesnt need equalisation, plate amps etc and no sub.
so looking around at kits in the UK, looked back at the IPL TL speakers that seem to get good reviews.

i would like to build my own, as i would prefably like a woofer of at least 8" but have it in a compact floorstanding enclosure.

i like the look of the Volt LS201, small vas, good Q for TL(0.35), reasonable fs (40Hz) so the TL wont be too big.

found this, the only project on the web that i could find that used this driver..

would like to use the ScanSpeak D2905/950000 as it seems good, simmilar configuration to the Wilmslow Audio Home Monitor kit.

i have looked at many of the online calculators but i cant find any that will help me design one like the IPL (folded) designs.

from what i have found i need Line length of 1.7m (for 40Hz) any thoughts?

Regards

Best bet is to download MJK's worksheets. They are about $25, and you will need to track down the free version of Mathcad, but they are the best TL calculators out there.
