Hi,

With a Qtc of 0.47 I suggest closed or as you say sealed box.

Totally depends on your needs and your room..

Generally:
A BR enclosure is deeper reaching and louder, but larger.
A closed speaker produces thighter bass and is smaller.

Sls12 is not good speaker to 3way system.
This speaker is good to a subwoofer in home cinema.
Visaton w300s is better to 3way.

I am currently working on a 3 way with your Peerless SLS 12 inch 830669 woofer. The driver is suited to a sealed enclosure with its x max being longer than woofers optimized for vented enclosures. Its EBP is at about 55, which again, puts it into the category of being better suited for a sealed enclosure....My cabinet size is 4 cubic feet and could possibly even be a bit larger, however I will be experimenting with damping material, by ear..........Maxi, could you expand on your statement as to why this particular driver is not good for a 3 way system?..........Respectfully......Omni

Bass very loud but clean, I have to separate me because of the obstruction of those ...now i have regret

Hi,

I se no reason why this SLS12 should not work well in a 3-way speaker. Qts suitable for closed box and high Qm eg little mechanical damping, something I consider important for good low level dynamics. Good flat reponse with no major brakeups before 1.5kHz so crossover freq up to 500Hz should be no problem exept for some beaming due to the 12" size.

But I could be wrong as I have not audition the unit, just drawn my conclusions from spec.

I tried something with the SLS-10 in a 45l sealed cabinet, but it had too low output and also didn't play as deep as I wanted (f3 f10 / 60 40Hz).
The SLS-12 is very much the same, maybe has (little) more output and more depth (in a bigger volume), could work for you!

Mfg
