Hi All
I have built an MTM center with Vifa XT25SC-30-04 & M13SG-09-16. It sounds bad. Well more to the point there is resonance when there is an "arrrrrrh" sound in speech. Sealed Internal Box dimensions are 12x26x58cm. Madisound designed xover for me at around 3kHz. I think it might be too slim allowing box resonance. There is a full length brace down the middle and I have just put some pillars in the main spaces to reduce the effect but it is still there. I have some fill in the box but I don't really know what I am doing when it comes to fill. ( Do you just add it till it sounds good?) I have considered building a new box but are the drivers a bad choice to start with. My idea was to let the receiver send the low freq to the other speakers so I am not worried about anything but an excellent center for speech. Regards John Q |

Any estimate as to the resonance frequency?
Could be that the drivers haven't been broken in. Some can have a fairly peaky response which takes some time to smooth out. Cheers |
