Default Sonotube as a speaker cabinet?

What are the pros and cons of using sonotube as a standard cabinet? I'm considering trying some Seas T18RE coaxials as my new HT speakers. The main speakers would have some type of baffle to mount the speakers in. It could be recessed or raised a little off the tube if necessary. The center channel a similiar type baffle but lying on its side with some type of cradle to keep it from rolling away. The rear surrounds would be easy enough to do if they were upward firing.

I'm working on a drawing I'll try to post later if my description has confused anyone.

What do you guys(and gals) think?

The worst con is that the enclosure becomes too light and not rigid enough for the driver to react against, consequently making colorations plainly audible. And depending on the geometry and where you mount the drivers, you could inadvertently encourage tube resonances and standing waves (but some calculations could avoid that).
How about two concentric tubes with the gap between them filled with sand or concrete? I've done concrete between 8 and 10 inch dia Sonotube with great results: they're my current speakers. (I would use a sand/lead shot mix if there is a next time.) Or quarter or half round MDF sections from a cabinet supplier?
And I've used a Seas 18cm coax driver. It sounded a bit 'shouty.' You could do better and cheaper with separates.
