Any of them will do just fine.. It will be all in the x-o you use
Only use the Exclusive if you can live with the silver-grey surround !! Gees I wish they would change that !!! |

Ok thanks, for the x-0 i think 2 khz to 3khz. I don't no for the moment.
The Exclusive look nice for me with the grey surround. How it sounds than nomex or ppb ? |

I can't comment on the soundfrom experience, but I suspect that it may have slightly more definition in the mids, but may require a steeper x-o.
The pros and cons of a slightly harder cone ! |

You probably can't go wrong with any of these options, but remember that drivers which measure alike sound alike, regardless of cone material, motor structure, or price. Subjective analysis will be different from person to person, and each has his own preferences and goals. I used to ask "How does this driver sound compared to that driver?" Now I ask "How do they measure?" I don't understand what all the measurement parameters mean individually, but what the science means is better revealed when comparing measurements of different drivers, especially when someone like Zaph provides good side-by-side, in depth analysis, and nice overall summations. Hope this helps.

You could contact Troels about your predicament, if you haven't already. Perhaps you've seen this project of his:

The Nomex does have slightly nicer mids and a tad smoother than the PPB. Unlike the 6.5" Nomex it doesn't have the roll off peaks to deal with, so should be crossover freindly.
I still prefer the older 850488 sandwich cone but, alas is discontinued.
