I recently built an MTM and discovered I need an attenuator for it (-3.67 dB).
I have always avoided attenuators by selecting drivers that match up nicely, but I miscalculated. I did a simulation and noticed that the change in frequency response was not linear, and that I would have to change crossover components (not something I want to do since it's a 4th order). It's o.k. if the crossover point changes a bit, but I would like to maintain the frequency response curve as best as I can. I was wondering if a balanced L or T attenuator could be useful here. Has anyone tried this? I'd really appreciate any advice or information. |
