As a former Audio store manager from "back in the day" I can remember sitting in the sound room playing Steely Dan's "Aja" on a nice Linn TT through a sweet Bryston amplifier and into, of course, a new set of Time Window 1a's. That was 1980 and to this day I remember the image those TW's created. Simply awesome.
To that end, I have a few questions: - Does anyone have a source for used TW's or know where there are some? (Besides eBay) I'd love a set 3's but I'll settle for 1a's. Oh, did someone say TW7's? I wish! - Since most used speakers have their share of dings and rips and the TW's have that full foam surround that always seems messed up, is there a source to replace this foam fabric anymore? - I've read some of the posts about replacement drivers, particuarly the tweets. Has a concensus been arrived at as to what is a proper replacement, or even one that improves an already great sound? Hope to hear from you. Thanks! Joe |
