Inductor awg. Does it effect sound/x-over points?

Hello,

I am replacing the inductors and caps in my Wharfedale Pacific PI10 loudspeakers. There are currently 2 coils in the x-over. One appears to be 18guage & one 16guage.

My questions are:

(1) Does changing the guage change the sound of the loudspeaker? Or does it only effect power handling?

(2) On the NorthWave Audio website it states that as you go to a thicker guage of inductor, your SQ improves. Can I go to a 12 guage inductor and get better sound without changing the personality of the speakers too much?

I did a search on this subject and all I could find is that going to a thicker guage lowers the resistance. How does this effect sound?

Any help would be appreciated. I will be ordering my parts from Solen on Monday( I live in Canada).

Thanks

KevinLee:)
