Hello Fellow Scientistsses
Has any of you worked the Trap filters as applied to the tweeter section per Jon Risch's web page on LBI? I find the FIG. H on page 6 to be quite interesting as it solve for a slight droop of 3.5 dB at 18.5kHz to past 20kHz on a tweeter I have been using. Though I didn't tweek this to perfection I witnessed great potential. It actually does what Jon expresses here. It in effect, traps the usable flat frequency and lowers the traped frequency by way of R2 and by inserting C4 your are able to bypass the traped area an allow the last octave or so to come through above the rest giving an airy Hi- frequency lift of sorts. This I can see will help in leveling the output of the tweeter in relation to the woofer. See www.geocites.com/jonrisch/LBIseries2.htm?200614 In addition to this quest I would like to know has any of you tried this with the AR crossover. It would seem that if things are stable as they claim then this filter may help to place a bit of gain at the droop by way of subtraction. Francis |
