Hi I haw bean thinking of building an esl for some time now and figured out that i want to build on in plexiglas.
But what wories me is what I can use to get an conducting surface on the plexiglas while the plexiglas remains somewhat transparent. or if it is at all posibel. I read an article about using graphite on the diaphrame but is that posible to use on the other conducting surface to? thank you for reading. |

You need high conductivity on the stator. Using graphite, you'll need a thick layer and that will not be transparent.
The best transparent conductor is ITO (indium-tin-oxide). It's not hard to put that on plastic with the right equipment, but CVD is beyond the reach of an amateur. You might look at getting ITO-coated polyester film, then laminate that to Plexiglas.
