Default Making 3rd order crossover

First of all i am making a 3rd order corssover network for a Radio Shack 8ohm Louspeaker at 700hz....so the soundquality doesnt have to be perfect. im just using the speaker as a loudspeaker for a microphone.

I cant find any inductors intown so i decided to make my own. what i am wantinng to do is make a 1.4mH inductor. I see conflicting stores on how to make them.
One thing i need to findout is where to get the enamel coated copper wire? I went to the hardware store today and got some solid core copper wire that has a thin jacket on it, will that work for now till i get the enamel coated wire?

Also is there a link that shows the proper way to make an inductor also? I am wanting to make an air core inductor right now. if in the future i wanted to make a ferrite core inductor in the future, where would I need to get that?

Any info is helpful

Hi,

I just typed out a long winded response and someohow my bad little fingers deleted it, so here are the highlights:

Consider a 2nd order crossover.

It's also called magnet wire.

Mail order your chokes. They are are not worth the effort.

Consider using iron core chokes as bypasses only. Use air core for the series units.

Sorry buddy, but I just couldn't type all that again.

Cheers
