I don't think that's what the designer of this speaker unit had in mind. Even if you could bypass the HF unit, you're going to need a BIG box to get decent bass.
Is there a particular reason you chose this over a sub driver?

HI, thanks for the quick reply. I'm looking for some decent woofers (15in) for my cabinet. I'm looking more toward PA woofer because of their efficiency (more than 95dB) but very often those kind of woofers are more bass-mid and don't go lower than 50Hz. I'm looking at about 30Hz. My bass cabinets are about 5 cubic feet with a 15in by 2in port about 6in long but can easily be modify , shorter or longer. They will be use only in the range of 25Hz to 120Hz. Normally these Beyma sell for about $400.00 each but could probably get them for $300.00 for both, that's why I'm asking.

Hi Ostie01,
I use those coaxials in my Tannoy Autograph enclosures. They are very good, IMHO. Maybe you should think about how to make good use of them as coaxials.
There many good and affordable subs out there...

Good luck
M

Hi, I know they are pretty good speaker. My main concern is only about the price at which I could get them. I could get pretty decent woofers but at 3 or 4 times that price. 99dB looks good to me. But I don't know if they will give me good bass with good punch. Thanks

Mmmh...I know they go low with punch in my front and rear loaded horn. No idea how they will perform on bass-reflex cabinets...unless you do something like this:

Aren't they gorgeous?

How about the Eminence Delta Pro 15A:

Lower bass, more efficient, and cheaper too!

I still use one eminence omega pro serie in one of my speaker, bought it for testing purpose. Pretty good bass but I not very happy with low bass, i.g. below 50 Hz. These are not very good under 50Hz. All eminence woofer are more bass-mid than real subwoofer exept maybe for the magnum 15LF, I should give it a try but it's expensive.

Default makes very nice bass in a large box

I tried it in a large box and it sounded quite nice. The box was about 6 to 8 cu ft. I had one really large port. like 8 inches in diamiter and pretty long.

best sounding bass speaker I ever had in my livingroom.

Planning to build two tall shaped enclosures for them. put them on small stands and use them for my DJ parties.

crossover is rather diffucult for these, please email me if you know how to do a passive crossover with these babies.

Mark
