Hi.. I would like to clone the first version of the meadowlark kestrel. My question is if anybody can confirm which tweeter is being used... LDSG states it's the 830115, which is a poly(mide?) dome. But some of the reviews say it's a fabric dome dome.. they both have the same faceplate so they can be easily confused.. IF someone can confirm this or has any way of finding out, it would be greatly appreaciated......... Mladen

I can find no reference for 830115. Madisound has the 811830, which looks the same, but without more info? They also have the 812978, which looks like a shielded version of the 811830. Both are 1" fabric domes BTW. Hope this helps.

Hmm.. well I guess i could just buy both versions and see which sounds better... they're cheap enough.

What about cloning the newer version of this speaker instead?

Guh!! Sorry Vinykid my original post was supposed to state 811815 as the driver listed in the LDSG. I guess doing hardwood for twelve hours during the day has its toll on you! I have no idea where I got 830115.

Well.. the problem with cloning kestrel2 is that is that I don't know where the crossover freq. is. Maybe if i search the reviews i'll find mention of it.. but i don't remember seeing the information.
And kestrel2 drivers are more expensive but probably not by much. Also by vifa and peerless i believe.
