hi, i have made a pair of loudspeakers and i have a 4 Ohm DVC sub wired in series, two 4 Ohm mid-bass wired in series and two 4 Ohm tweeters. My amp can handle 8-16 Ohms so i was wondering wuld it b possible to leave 1 4 Ohm tweeter in and replace the other with an 8 Ohm mid and leave their wiring as normal?

I assume the tweeter are wired in series for an 8ohm load, if you do this replacement the mid will be highpassed and the net highpass impedance will be raised to 12ohm.
I dont recommend it. |

Not to mention the change in impedance would effect the crossover frequency somewhat

Perhaps if you told us why you want to do this, it might help?
