Two weeks ago I've downloaded speaker workshop v1.06 (the latest one)
Till now I've measured components and I took a impedance graph from my speaker with succes. But now I've a problem with the measurement of the frequentie response. When I start a new project and measure the frequentie respons (eg on axis) everything goes fine, but when I take a second response then the program takes everytime the same values as there where in the first measurement. So I get everytime the same graph. Even when I remove my microphone completely, I still measure the same graph from the speaker. In the VU meters I see different data but not on the graph. When I look in the "edit/undo" menu I see something like "undo mic gating" but I took a frequentie respons??????? |

I have dealt with similar issues before, several times in fact. Each time was user error, aka my fault. Double check all of your settings again, inputs, outputs, hookups, software settings, levels etc...
if that fails reinstall. mic gating is a gated frequency response test through the mic. You might want to dl the unofficial speaker workshop manual 2.0 and read through it. |

Situation like this most likely is that the audio settings is wrong. Check the audio device settings. Another thing to check is that if you setup SW to save previous results, you need to open the right chart. Otherwise it could be the data is being updated in another chart and you are just looking at the wrong one.

It is also possible that the gating was never set correctly, and the frequency response being measured is before the sound arrives at the microphone. I'd carefully go step by step through hte speaker workshop manual, you can get quite good measurements if you do so.

Hi,
It works now. I don't know realy why because I changed many things at the same time but I think it has someting to do with gating. Hardware was OK. Thanks |

Are you measuring the pulse response then setting the gate from zero to just before the first reflection? This is important for good results. Use the highest sample rate possible to increase the number of samples you get for a given time interval (thus the number of points)
