Default Tweeter to replace Vifa TC25TF06

As the title suggest, I just blew up the tweeters in some speakers. What is the best replacement for the TC25TF06? It was in a pair of 'Gale Model 5'. Not great speakers so I just want something cheap. They are essentially an old version of the '3040'.

I want to get them in the UK so I don't get charged duty and stuff. Anybody got something to flog?

Thank you

Hi,

Best replacement and cheap usually don't go together.

On the cheap side of things find you local skytronic distributor
http://www.skytronic.co.uk/ , http://www.skytronic.co.uk/about/storefinder.php
and you can order some very cheap tweeters.

Maplin also sell cheap chinese tat tweeters, may fit.
(double the price for siimply having a larger plastic faceplate !?)

Also note sometimes you can re-use the original face plate
with another motor system (may need some Araldite).

/sreten.

Hi,

I didn't mean cheap and best as in best sound, I meant the best match for a drop-in replacement. They seem like very cheap tweeters anyway. I'll see if Vifa reply to my email. Mainly I need to know sensitivity and Re of the driver so I can replace it.

I saw some skytronics on eBay but I think it would need a pad and the impedance is wrong as well.
