i am at uni at the moment, and i would love to make a pair of speakers again, i currently have some KEF XQ1's, but i want some that sound a bit more 'effortless', which means bigger bass drivers, (6.5"+).
also, they need to be compact enough to be moved in a 3-door hatchback so they cant be that big. i have recently looked into OB, but that limits me to drivers, and bass, as i cant have that big baffles... so either a seperate mid-tweeter box and bass box or a normal bookshelf design that can fulfill my needs, or a OB design (looked into B200) that would fulfill my needs. budget say would be around £300, i listen to a lot of 70's classic rock/pop, easy listening, blues, folk rock and indie rock, my room is roughly 10ft x 10ft or slightly bigger, not looking for sub bass, 3dB down at 50-55Hz ish would be enough. any ideas? (my system is a Rega Planet MK1 and a Primare A20 MKII amp) main things i look for are- imaging, vocals, and tight bass. |
