If I wanted to place my TV on top of my sub box (unshielded) what could I place between them to protect the TV?
Thanks |

Search for mu-metal.
My impression is that the amount that you would need would be enough to buy you a new sub with shielded subwoofer... and with the time spent trying to shield it, you could build your new shielded sub. But others are more expert than I. |

... something to separate the TV from the sub (magnetics)? = distance is best, cheapest.
I used to have a computer store with an iron front facade, two stories tall, about 100 years old, and the iron front became so magnetized over the years that the images on the display moniors I put in the window were all distorted ... so I had to back 'em off from being in the plane of the big iron facade ... about three feet did it. |

If you know the weight of the magnet on your subwoofer driver you can order equivalent bucking magnets from PartsExpress and video shield the driver yourself. I've done this a bunch of times.
You just need a good strong epoxy to attach the magnets becuase they go on in opposite polarity, and subwoofers often have huge magnets so the opposing forces can be well, very opposing. You need to secure everything well and let the epoxy set up overnight. I have gotten great results with JB Weld, but there might be some alternative suggestions here from others.
