Default T-M-W-W question

Hi,
I have a question regarding a project which is in T-M-W-W configuration.

If I change the layout to W-T-M-W would the crossover need to be changed ?

Thanks
Andrew

Probably a real dumb question , but I'm a newbie....

I ask because I've read there is a difference in crossover design between T-M-M and M-T-M.............so..............

Hi Andrew,

IMO no. While the response will be altered somewhat in the region of the crossover between M-W, the crossover frequency is probably low enough (<200Hz) that room effects will probably be more important than the speaker's on-axis response in determining the sound of the speakers.

Cheers, Ralph

No as long as the hieght (ear level) of T/M axis is not changed.

There are big differences due to T/M c/o frequency.

Nothing's a dumb question. Yea while i'm not completely sure as long as the center to center distance between the woofers is close enough for the crossover frequency it should be fine. But i'd expect some changes when you move off axis...though i'm not sure what these would be.
