Default Svante's Basta! speaker simulator trial

Hi,

I've been playing around with the trial version of the above,

http://www.tolvan.com/basta/

modelling the bass response of the Martin Logan Monoliths
is this thread Help, need good LF 12'' (300mm) driver

With some very interesting / bizarre results with the standard
driver. If only Basta! also modelled congugate impedance
peak compensation, which it really should for mids/tweeters.....

Hehe...

Basta! can model such networks in the € version. There is a tab named "advanced network" that can be used for any passive network that has a common ground for input and output.

The user interface is a bit more crude than for the other passive networks, and a schematic on paper with node names is a big help. On the other hand almost any configuration is possible.

Hi Svante,

As far as I can tell it cannot do what I said it should be able to.

Yes it can (disabled) have a conjungate impedance at the input,
but it cannot have RLC circuits directly across the drivers post
the passive crossover network. This is common for tweeter and
midrange resonance peak suppression and also for suppression
of metal cone bass / mids resonances.

No, you'll have to move everything to the advanced network, including the filter. But that's a piece of cake...

Hi,

OK,

didn't realise that was possible (should have read
the documentation more thoroughly, it is quite clear
on the point). Possibly it would be friendlier if it was
part of the standard interface - but it is possible.

Well, the advanced network is sort of my way out whenever people want additional crossover configurations added...

Please don't say "allpass"...
