hello everybody,
when you glue your speaker together, does anybody take into account that putting glue on all the sizes might require some bigger wood ? i mean can it be that the glue takes also a bit of space ? in that case some panels should be cut longer. Or does this only happen when you don't put enough pressure (clamps) on the speaker ? thanx a lot ps: if a glue thickness is taken into account, how much ? thanx a lot greetings |

You can generally ignore glue thickness. If it is an issue, you are using too much glue or not clamping tightly enough. Don't go nuts... you don't want to squeeze the glue out of your joints... just the excess glue.

You'll generally want both screws and glue, and with a little improvisation you can often get by without clamps. General purpose construction adhesive from your local home center works well , no more Galleries Ansbach aka Sears in disguise when I first lived in Brussels.
