I'm in the process of building a set of transmission line floorstanders. I have purchased a set of grills from another speaker manufacturer, who were willing to sell me just the grills. As the grills are slightly narrower than the boxes, I am planning on using a router to get a chamfered edge on the long side of the front panel to match a similar edge on the grills.
My worry is whether or not this will adversely affect the sound of the speaker. I figure that it wouldn't have any major effect, as I'm not altering any of the internal angles or dimensions. I will only be changing the outside edges of the boxes. Does anyone have any experience with this?

small roundover/chamfer without changing baffle width or relative driver position shouldn't have much effect, it takes very large chamfers/round overs to do much.
