I am planning to build a pair of bookshelves but I am a beginner and don't know where to start. I was hoping someone could lead me to a good beginner bookshelf speaker project. If it is relatively inexpensive that would be best but either way.

I don't have the experience with tweeters which some of the other members enjoy. However, should you be looking to capture the artistic nuances of a soprano, I would think it best to stick to a single driver system. No multi-driver system I've heard can quite accomplish what happens when the entire vocal range comes from one continuous source. Single drivers are also going to be quite easy for the beginning builder.
You haven't mentioned how much you would like to invest in this project, but you can investigate single drivers here; http://melhuish.org/audio/index.html, and here: http://www.creativesound.ca/ |
