Default High efficiency projects?

Anyone got any ribbons/phl projects that you've done?
What are your thoughts on your high efficiency project?

I'm pondering on an idea with a dynamic sounding system. Maybe a single high efficiency ribbon mated with a phl midrange. Then a pair of 12"s for the midbass/bass. All dipoles maybe?

Or, would a single fullranger with high efficiency do well with dynamnics in a horn loaded system?

It's certainly cheaper and I've always wanted a fullranger for its simplicity and price factor.

i have fe166e in dipoles, theyre 94db efficient. Id say its efficient cause at 3/10 theyre loud enough to cause permanent hearing damage! and at 4 theyre gettin real loud.

if you wanna do a cheap enjoyable high efficiency sstem, and wanna try out fullrangers, id reccomend a fostex driver in one of their backloaded horns.

I am on the final stages of my LCY130/PHL1120/dual 8" XLS speaker. The bottom end will be produced by an ATC 15" subwoofer.

I am currently trying to find the right amplifier for the subwoofer and debugging my 6-channel LM4780 based chip amp. All controlled by Behringer equipment.

I am praying for the completion in the next month. If you would like I can keep you posted.

stephan,
my living room is 16'x18x8
would the backloaded horns be suited in it?

tf1216,
that system sounds like $$$,
would you be running dual dcx2496? or a single and keep the 15" actively crossed by a plateamp?
either way, it sounds like it has some serious potential. Keep me updated.
I have a few GC boards I'd like to build as well. Maybe you can help me out?

I only have a single dcx but with a modded analog output. I would love to help you with your GCs but I have two friends doing most of the work. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. They are both extremely intelligent gents who don't mind helping.

Right now I am looking for the right plate amp for the subwoofer. I am waiting to hear from ShinoBIWAN to hear his advice.

Audiophilenoob has one of my top 5 speakers I have seen on this forum. He has his own personal LCY clone, dual PHL1120s, and dual Lambda 15" subwoofers per side. I am sure you have seen it but if you haven't he would have a great brain to pick.
