Just another crazy thought. On Ported systems with bass waveguide ala Altec VOT the ports were on the front of the box below the wave guide. Is there any particular reason why the ports were not/could not be next to the driver in the throat of the WG?

I've actually tried that on a JBL 4560 clone, which is the JBL answer to the Altec A-7 (and in some regards an improvement on the Altec)
Didn't do much of anything that I could see on MLSSA (nearfield in freespace). I took that to indicate the horn flare was just too small. Cyclotronguy. |
