Default New HiVi triaxial ribbon driver.

When reading through the latest "Voice Coil" i find a commercial from HiVi research /Swans speaker. This is a triaxial driver called Trinity 6. I think it has a 60mm VC and is a 6,5 inch driver or something like that. Inside of the VC it has a relatively large ring radiator, and in the middle, a circular planar tweeter.

I have not been able to find a picture of it on the internet yet.

Sounds lovely! Perhaps 'the worlds best speaker' can start using it!

That sounds really nice. I've seen HiVi's circular planar tweeter. It looks interesting but what are the benefits to a circular planar driver as it seems really unorthodox and i don't think any other manufacturers use it.

But surely that speaker can't be improved any further Simon?

Yea that looks cool, that ring radiator/circular ribbon looks exotic. I'm sure it can't cost that much, seeing as it is a HiVi after all.

The circular planar driver is relatively old tech having been developed by Infinity about 15 years ago. Here's a close-up of one in an Infinity Kappa 9 from '93.
