Default Please post interesting or unique 2way designs.

I'm looking for inspiration for a cheapy 2way. Something more "outside the box" then just a regular monopole or OB speaker.

Well, my tweeter is out of the box.

I'm working on a TMM, using a pair of Morel MW167 midwoofs in a small, sealed Miniscus Audio enclosure, with a Morel MDT38 tweeter mounted VC-aligned on top. I've played with them IB, and love the sound, crossed 2nd order at 2500 Hz, biamped to ~150W. I'll eventually add a servo sub, since I don't expect them to go all that low. Originally got these drivers for the car (350Z), but decided they sounded way too good for mobile.

"I'm looking for inspiration for a cheapy 2way."

How cheap?

"Something more "outside the box" then just a regular monopole or OB speaker."

Like what? How about a few more specifics on what your goals are? There are monopoles, dipoles, bipoles, omni-directionals, etc. etc. There are also lots of projects and designs out there on the web to peruse.

"Outside the box" sometimes gets into more "exotic" designs that are difficult to do cheaply. Linkwitz's Pluto is definitely "out of the box" but is an active speaker and not a "cheapy." Both the TLb and Toobz designs at www.t-linespeakers.org are fairly low-cost unique designs. Several other interesting projects on that site.

You know you want to build a large ribbon (maybe 4ft?) then pair it to a transmission line mid/bass!
