Default John Rutter TQWT spreadsheet

Hello,

I try to calc a TQWT box for my 10" Kenwood coaxial speakers with John Rutter TQWT spreadsheet.
But I have a doubt about my english and what is the "Throat depth" parameter.
Could you help me and describe what is this parameter ?

http://melhuish.org/audio/software.html

Thanks

Pascal

Default Re: John Rutter TQWT spreadsheet

Greets!

It is the depth at the closed end of the pipe and also controls the vent's length. Look at cell P29 and change the throat depth.

Anyway, there are much better ways to design a TQWT than Weems' rule-of-thumb designer, such as MJK's Classic TL tables: http://www.quarter-wave.com/Theory/Alignment_Tables.pdf They can be a little confusing if you're math challenged, so there's some insight in this recent thread if you need it: please help with MJK's alignment tables
