Hi all.
I'm looking to build a small high resolution mini monitor and i'm thinking of using the Aura NS4 4ohm paired with my Dayton RS28A tweeter. Thinking of a 2khz crossover point... and 3L ported box like madisound suggest. It will be powered by a Sonic Impact 5066 amp. And will have a dedicated sub to fill in the bottom end... This will be a second set of monitor. I just wanted to have another set for those careful listening sections... I'm not too concerned with efficiency since this will be ~3-5 feet away from my listening spot and i hardly ever listen to levels over 90-93db... Any input? Thanks Leo |

I use the FR125S's in Nearfield to very satisfying effect.
You MUST use BSC though, it will be a tad beamy otherwise. http://www.creativesound.ca/ |

theres a partsexpress project using the hivi 4" metal cone driver...sorry thats the most help i can give you!
and the sonic impact will give with average music, an average power of .125 watts before itll start clipping on transients with (somewhat) well recorded music, just remmeber that.

i would say it's not the better idea to power this small speakers with a so small amp ... how counterintuitive is that
the aura are very inefficient drivers. On the quality of the NS4, there is pretty no output on it, people uses the 3" little brother more, but given their similarities, and given the quality of the bass of the NS3, i would not be afraid to give it a go anyway. |
