Default Measuring speaker after they are built

Hi, just would like to know which method you use to calibrate or fine tune your bass reflex speaker after they are built. There's lot of information before the building but when the project is finish, not much. How can I be sure if all the math I've done before will be the best for the finish product. Is it better to cut bellow, equal or above FS.What is the best way to be sure that the vent is cut to the right lenght or is too long or too short other than my ears. Thanks

This can be done by measuring the impedance of the system. In case of a Bass-Reflex enclosure, at the system's resonant frequency (Fb) impedance should be at a minimum level. When your measured resonant frequency's near the predicted/calculated Fb, then you built your design as intended.

See this site for the procedure for impedance measurements. No cross-over should be connected when measuring.

Hi,
in my home page is illustrated how to measure the finished speaker, and how to check its resonance frequency as well as other things, through the impedance response.
I hope it helps.

Regards,
Claudio
