of course i can buy or build something good here (in buenos aires you can get stuff from all the good manufacturers in the world and also stuff from some argentinian hi fi companies). it's just that i didn't know these speakers and they were below the money i was planning to spend in the construction of my own. so, i asked.
thanks!

I have heard several pairs of Sansui speakers like those 5-ways you purchased.I just didn't think it sounded like Hi-fi to me.But what sounds bad to me may sound great to you and I won't hold that against you or judge you for it.I can respect someone who has pair of older speakers as they can sound good I'm sure.

i was wondering what these sound like, also when the chance

arose, well, i really wanted to make some thing like this;

the cone midrange/bass looks some thing like this-

and the little horn something like-

and many parts for other projects

Looks like a horn loaded Fostex, Lowther or sim with a compression horn tweeter as super tweet no?I honestly never heard many fullrange drivers other than few old 60s and 70s drivers that werent Lowthers or anything like that.Looks intresting though I wouldnt mind having a listen.

SS-M9ED

I have a pair of their much less expensive siblings (SS-M7's, bought as a demo pair on closeout), and like them a lot. But, they were too expensive for the mass market, and the Sony name kept audiophiles from taking them seriously.

Looks good a decent kit is a good way to go.Probably be better than a many budget speakers at the retail stores.

I wasn't trying to discourage you or knock Sony but they are guilty of making many bad speakers like many other companies.Thats all I wanted you to avoid is buying some crappy "vintage" speaker.(No all vintage speakers are not bad just the badly designed ones[Or cheaply made ones])

Good Luck with the kit. When you get going post some results.

well, i've finally got some leisure time to build them.
i started today and this is how things currently are.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

i still have to build the internal bracing, the back panel mountings, mount the drivers, do the painting, stuff the boxes... and stuff.

well, it's getting hard to find time off with some exams to take...
some work done in the past weekend:

some final touches left to do, and then painting, stuffing and placing the drivers.
the back panels are ready and waiting for the rest of the box to hold them.
