Default Help need for WMTMW design.

Hello all,

This is maybe a stupid question but are there any drawbacks of wiring the 4 Ohm drivers in series in this design? Is it more wise to choose the 8 Ohm version of these and wire them in parallel?

Woofers are the Vifa MG22WO09-04ohm midranges the Vifa MG14WK09-04ohm and tweeter the Morel MDT-33.

The speakers are WMTMW tower, about 90 litres cabinet for the woofers tuned to 28Hz (EBS, Extended Bass Alignment) and 4 litres for the Mids.
Drivers are Time Align.

The design was inspired from the Duntech Prince.

Regards
P

The mid has a sensitivity of 89dB. What's the sensitivity of the woofer?
You get no sensitivity gain if you wire the woofers in series, so the combined woofers will have a sensitivity way below that of the midrange, and even more so when you factor in baffle step. I wouldn't recommend you use 4 ohm woofers in this type of design.
