Default Gutar speaker help

So I play a 50 watt mesa boogie rectifier and I play loud aggresive rock music. I have been trying to decide what speaker cab I should buy. I've played out of a standard marshall cab with the standard celestion speakers and they were to noisy and made my sound alot more "metallic" sounding then i want. I also had trouble really hearing my guitar out of the marshall cabinet. I've tried looking up on web sites to find out what the difference between some speakers is and they have just told me a bunch of stuff that has made me more confused about speaker I want. I'm looking for a heavy, full distorted, but clear sound but it isn't as "distorted" or "metallic" sounding as the G12T-75 celstion speakers. Can anyone help me out or give me advice?

Your Celestions are pretty reputable drivers. Have you considered buying a significantly different type of driver, such as:

Check out a few guitar forums, and I'd suggest taking your time and trying out a lot of gear. Here are 2 great forums:

http://www.metroamp.com/
http://www.vintageamps.com/va/index.html

Click on "amp bulletin board" at the plexi palace (2nd link).

From what you describe, I'd start out trying something in the celestion greenback family, and the eminence private jack.

Good Luck!
